About the sources and screenshots

This book draws together three working documents about the same system into one narrative account. Where the three overlapped, this version follows whichever told the story most clearly; where one covered ground the others did not, that material was folded in.

The screenshots reproduced throughout are taken directly from a running installation, not recreated from prose. The diagrams are conceptual drawings made for this book to explain how the system behaves — they describe organisation and behaviour, not internal implementation, and are not claims about how any part of the system is actually built underneath.

Nothing in this book describes the algorithms, thresholds, code structure or internal engineering underneath any feature. It describes what the system does, what it refuses to do, and why it is shaped the way it is — the same boundary the source documents themselves observed.
