An ordinary day

“What did we decide about this, and why?”

One thing, written down somewhere in a person’s own material. Answered from what they have, source attached, and nothing leaves the machine.

“What depends on this, and what breaks if I change it?”

A question about connection rather than content. The answer may cross documents written months apart, and no single passage ever said it.

“How are these two things related?”

Asked of the map directly. The answer is a chain you can walk, each step opening to the passage that supports it — or an honest “no path found” when nothing ever joined them.

“What’s changed about this recently?”

This one turns on what is true today, so it has earned a look outside. What comes back is merged with what was already known, and the two stay distinguishable.

“Write this up from my own material, and fill the gaps from outside.”

No longer a lookup. It becomes a piece of work with an objective, and it leaves behind a document that can be revised tomorrow.

“Use my review skill on this, and teach me the topic while you’re at it.”

The skill is checked for relevance before it runs. The learning journey stays scoped to part of the material, keeping its place between sessions, reaching the same map as everything else.

Before anyone is at the keyboard.

Sources a person nominated are crawled on their own schedule; new material is split, checked at the gate, embedded and queued. Nobody had to press anything, and the panel says plainly what arrived and what, if anything, failed.

“Build me this.”

Asked to produce something rather than explain it, the same machinery runs behind the chat box. Nothing about the exchange required naming a tool or choosing a source — the goal was stated in a sentence, and the assistant accounts for what it chose along the way.

The common thread is that every one of these starts in the same house and takes a different path through it — chosen because of what the question is, not because of which feature happened to be open.
